About
The Bowen Center partners with the State of Indiana to steward, maintain, and report health workforce information. We help at every step of the way, providing content expertise on data collection tools, applying data management processes to clean data, storing longitudinal data in a relational database, and reporting information in data reports and briefs. Our vision is that the data reports and briefs can then be used to inform policy, align efforts, and ultimately advance health.
Some examples of how synthesized data might be used: to designate new Health Professional Shortage Areas, monitor labor market indicators associated with workforce supply and projections, or provide a broader perspective of state workforce needs.
Interactive Data Visualizations
In addition to our reports, we’ve recently developed interactive dashboards to allow users to customize visualization of Indiana’s Health Workforce Data. There is also the option to customize the data so that you only have to sift through the numbers you really need, making it easier and faster than ever to have you health workforce data questions answered. The Indiana Physician dashboards are live and other professions are currently being developed. Try them out to learn about Indiana’s physicians.
Deliverables
Data Reports, Briefs, and Licensure Surveys
To view health workforce supply characteristics for specific professions, visit our Library where you can search our resources using the dropdown menus. Select the profession you want to learn about. To further narrow your search you can filter by report type to data report for very specific numbers, brief for a general overview, or Licensure surveys to see what questions the health professionals had to fill out in order to get the data.
